ELCAF x WeTransfer Award
Presenting to the world, Nicolas Burrows and The Elephant Hotel. Nicolas was the grant award winner in 2016 and throughout the process of creating his book we caught up with him to learn about his inspirations and craft. We’re thrilled to see his book develop and come to life ready for sale at ELCAF 2017. We’re still taking award submissions for 2017 from exhibitors past and present.
ELCAF 2017 Volunteers
ELCAF needs you! We’re on the hunt for enthusiastic, dedicated and reliable people to play a key role in helping us make ELCAF the best experience possible. Volunteers form an important of the part festivals operation so we’re looking for people who are keen to support with the install/de-install, the delivery of the events programme, assisting visitors and generally getting stuck into the preparations for the big day. For more info on how to apply click here.
In return for your awesomeness we can offer: free entry to the festival for all three days, one special ELCAF 2017 T-shirt, one ELCAF 2017 tote bag and a voucher of £10 for you to spend at Nobrow. On the day of the festival there will be lunch and light refreshments. And, of course, we mustn’t forget the memories and experience which we hope will last a lifetime – if not a few months at least!
DEADLINE: FRIDAY 15 MAY

AWARD 2017
Launched in 2016, the ELCAF x WeTransfer Award enables an artist in bringing a new project to life. ELCAF continually endeavours to put a spotlight on new works and find ways to support the individuals who form part of the vibrant community of comics, illustration and sequential art. The aim of the ELCAF x WeTransfer Award is to support the development of a publication idea and see it printed, published and promoted. This is an opportunity to be playful. To take a gamble with new ideas. To take an experiment to the extreme.
The grant is open to exhibitors that have been part of any edition of ELCAF and aims to encourage self-publishing. One successful applicant will receive £3,500 and support to transform their idea into a printed publication, document the process, and share it with audiences at ELCAF 2018. Unfortunately we cannot take submissions from artists who have not previously been, or will be a part of ELCAF.
ELCAF is taking place on June 16, 17 & 18 at the Round Chapel in East London.
