  • What is ELCAF?

ELCAF is the East London Comics & Arts Festival, an annual event with a full programme of talks, workshops, masterclasses, screenings, installations and exhibitions. ELCAF also hosts over 100 international exhibitors selling publications, zines and prints. Throughout the festival there is also music, food and drinks.

  • When does ELCAF take place?

Every year in June / July.

  • What is the ELCAF Season?

The ELCAF season is a series of satellite events in the months leading up to the festival, which include workshops, exhibitions, masterclasses, springboard meetings and more.

  • Where does ELCAF take place?

In East London. We have been located at The Round Chapel and the adjacent building The School Rooms for the last four years. Entrance and exit to the Festival is through The Round Chapel on 1D Glenarm Rd, London E5 0LY.

  • Is there food/drinks available on site?

Yes, we always invite a number of food, coffee and drinks stalls to participate.

  • Is there parking available?

Unfortunately not – we recommend you take public transport where possible. There is limited parking on the side streets near the venue (please check Parkopedia for parking availability in the area).

  • Is it suitable for children?

Yes! ELCAF is free for anyone under the age of 16. There are workshops for both adults and children plus a number of exhibitors who publish illustrated children’s books and prints.

  • Is there wheelchair access?

Yes. The entry for wheelchair access is separate from the main entrance. Please contact a member of staff at the entrance when you arrive.

  • Can I apply to be an exhibitor?

Publishers, collectives and individuals can all apply to exhibit at ELCAF. We begin taking submissions in November/December through an online submissions form on the ELCAF website. The open call is up for at least 6 weeks. Table prices will be made available when the open call is released.

  • Where can I book tickets?

Tickets can be bought through our website or at the festival itself. Due to high popularity for ticketed events we advise you buy tickets when they become available online.

  • Can I pay by card during the festival?

We recommend that you bring cash where possible. The festival takes card payments at the entrance – however some stall holders will only accept cash.

In order to attend talks and screenings you will need to purchase an ‘all access’ ticket, these are available for individual days or the full weekend and can be bought online or at the door.

  • Is there a special ticket for families?

ELCAF does not offer family tickets at the moment, but children under 16 can attend for free and we also offer a discounted student ticket for the first day of the festival.

  • How do I become an ELCAF volunteer?

Keep checking our website, instagram, facebook and twitter pages for the volunteer call out in April. All you have to do is apply! More info here.
